Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia
The truth of things revealed you to your flock as a rule of faith, a model of meekness, and a teacher of temperance. Through humility, you attained the heights; and through poverty, riches. O Father and Hierarch Nicholas, intercede with Christ God that our souls may be saved.

History of Our Church
The beginnings of Serbian immigration to Lorain are traced to the onset of
this century. The first large group arrived in May 1903.
In 1921 they started a new organization called Serbian National Home and School. In 1923 they renamed that organization Church School Community.
The foundations of St. George in Lorain were blessed by Bishop Mardarije
on November 13, 1927. The church was consecrated on July 28, 1929.
During the 1970s a fire broke out in the church, mostly damaging the
iconostasis and icons painted by Andrej Bicenko.
Icons for a new iconostasis were painted by Protodeacon Marko Ilic, an academic painter, and the consecration ceremony was performed by bishop Sava of Sumadija, an administrator of the Diocese of Eastern America and Canada, on July 24, 1977.
